Enviro-Award Scheme

A new framework for increasing environmental performance and business efficiency

The Enviro-Award Scheme has been designed to help businesses improve their business practices and demonstrate to stakeholders their environmental credentials.

Wherever you see the bronze, silver or gold award logos (see below) you can be assured that that company has taken significant steps in improving their environmental credentials.


There are 3 options:

Bronze Award Sample

Bronze

the entry level Award has 2 mandatory criteria, related to an environmental policy and environmental responsibility, as well as select 3 optional criteria that include recycling, resource management and energy efficiency among others achieving 5 criteria in total.


Silver Award Sample

Silver

as well as achieving the required number of criteria for the bronze award, the silver award has 2 further mandatory criteria, related to staff training and environmental targets, as well as 3 optional criteria that include environmental audits and carbon foot print analysis among others.


Gold
Award Sample

Gold
the highest level of Award. Businesses must have achieved required number of criteria for the bronze and silver plus 5 further criteria from a list of optional elements that include, for instance, having an accredited environmental management system to ISO14001 and reporting on environmental performance.


Businesses can seek an assessment against any level or work through each stage over a given time frame.

With some FREE help and advice, businesses can follow a guide on how to implement an Environmental Management System and gain accreditation through the easy to use on-line assessment tool.

The Enviro-Award is designed to enable all businesses to improve their environmental performance and provide a good practice framework that can prove that they take these responsibilities seriously.
